Fangs for the cookies! With Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

Hi there, everyone…

I have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. We’re talking big-time thanks. With a very busy year, I’m in not one, but two holiday anthologies. “Holiday with a Vampire 4” from Nocturne, and “Strange Spirits” from GothicScapes. Two different sides of me. One serious, and one quirky. What could be better for a writer than this? So, I’d like to give away a book today … passing along the blessings, so to speak. And also a sugar cookie recipe that wins me hugs. But before I do, here’s a tidbit or two about my December books. Yay!

In Holiday with a Vampire 4 – I’ve written “Bright Star,” about a sexy immortal coming out of seclusion to stop a young female astronomer named Savannah Clark from finishing her research on the phenomenon known as the Christmas Star. Why? I’ll give just a hint here = it’s because that star might have hidden another event that immortals don’t want others to find out about. With his long dark hair and his big eyes and his graceful silhouette (and of course an aura of submerged danger) Dylan McCay is a WOW.

Imagine: You’re out to celebrate the season, alone, and a hunky, sexy man tunes in to you who not only turns you on, but knows something about your work, and wants to know more about you. It’s a recipe for one hot holiday, for sure, especially for a lonely, geeky astronomer.

In Strange Spirits, I’ve written “Hot Holiday.” The atmosphere heats up when Wanda, a Recruiter for the Dark Side is given an assignment to take Santa Claus down while he’s in New York on a contract dispute. But Santa has a bodyguard who proves to be much more than even a prime Recruiter has bargained for in the days leading up to Christmas. And Wanda, maybe for the first time, has reservations about her gig, and a desire for . . . something more.

So, now, who has other ideas about how to fang up a celebration? Will Holiday with a Vampire or Strange Spirits be in your stocking, or under your pillow?

How about this for a chilly winter night: a sexy book to fulfill our paranormal longings, and a glass of sparkling champagne? Or a glass of Vampire Merlot to cool down a hot f lash?

I know that I’ll be indulging my cravings with some immortal fare this season, and guess what? I’ve already started! And each time I eat a sugar cookie, I’ll think of Dylan McCay’s expression when in “Bright Star,” Savannah handed him one… But well, you’ll just have to read the story to find out about that.

Here’s the recipe:

ROLLED SUGAR COOKIES
1 cup sugar, 1 cup margerine or butter, softened, 3 tbsp milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 egg, 3 cups flour, 1 ½ tsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt, sugar to sprinkle on top (unless you frost). Of course, you separate the dry stuff, then mix in the wet stuff. Roll out on a floured board and cut into shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, bake at 375 degrees until edges are light brown.

Guaranteed YUM !!!

Waving. Please wave back, and one lucky waver will get a book!

Cheers- Happy holidaying…
Linda

  9. Waving to you, Linda! :) A hot book and champagne, or white wine, sounds like a very good combination during Christmas. And the cookies, of course.
